Fevver and Flower Friday

OK, last Saturday we saw Orioles in our yard. So when mum checked the ads in the newsy paper Sunday, they had the Oriole feeders on special sale. What timing!
Orioles will drink nectar, so mum bought a feeder for nectar and the nectar concentrate. Mum saw one of the birdies at this feeder Thursday AM, but couldn't get a picture before he flew away.
She also got a feeder that will hold orange halves and has little cups to put jelly in them, these birdies eat jelly, but not peanut butter. No PB&J for them, just the J!
Mum put out orange halves on this feeder, plus on the other feeder where she put the oranges on the weekend. Yesterday she checked and they had been eaten from, so she has seen them and we can tell they are eating.
Most of the spring flowers are done, but the iris is just opening. The allium is also blooming now too.
Happy weekend!

  13. You have lots of interesting fev-vers around you. Ours are pretty dull looking around our house, but if we could go to the beach or the wetlands, we could see some really interesting ones.

  14. What great timing on the oriole feeder sale! I hope that with all the food you are putting out for them, the orioles will hang around your house all summer. Your iris is lovely. Ours are still in the bud stage, but they should bloom soon.
