If you saw my post from Saturday you know we got new orange birdies who came to visit. But we had other birdies on Saturday too that I wanted to share with all of you. Red winged black bird and we get lots of them, every day. We can hear them sing and they wake us up in the morning.
Mr Cardinal, always a treat to see his flashy red fevvers.
White Capped Sparrows, the are just passing through on their way to Canada for the summer.
Lots and lots of rose breasted grosbeaks. Mum was reading that in the spring the guys show up in groups. We saw 5 or 6 males at one time, plus another 4 females.
You can see the trunk of the tree out the window second from left by the blue stained glass thingy. Mum says she will think about what if anything to plant here again. There is a very old white lilac nearby and power lines over head.

In other happenings, we didn't see the orange birdies on Sunday, but them mum didn't have much time to sit and watch for them either. Grampie came over in the afternoon and they cut a tree down! The tree was just outside the kitchen window and it looked ok to me. But mum said it was over 80% dead.
Oh, you have so many birdies to see.
ReplyDeleteMom bean took our bird feeder down last year. They put some kind of poison stuff on the ground around here and all the birds died. They're used to be tons of them, but not anymore? It made us all very unhappy.

Wow! I think you have great birds to watch. We need more birds in our windows!
ReplyDeleteYou are so lucky to have so many birdies. All we have is towhees and robins! Have fun watching!
ReplyDeleteYour birds are lots more colorful that the ones we get. We get robins, house finches, house wrens and ravens, mostly. There is the occasional blue jay and once we had a red-tail hawk.
ReplyDeleteIt must be great to have so many birds visiting your garden. Very nice pictures.
ReplyDeleteYou have lots of great fev-vers to watch. We have feeders on the tree outside our window and get lots of different fev-vers here, and then we sneak out to try and catch them. Mum tells us off when we do that though.
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely birds you get in your garden. Thank you so much for sharing. Mum wishes we got to se birdslike those over here.
