Garden Thursday

Hello and Welcome Back to The Garden this week.

The sqwerls planted a sunflower for us near the house. It bloomed this past week and when it opened up it was funky in that a portion of the petals were gone. That is the way  it was. When mum took the first pic there was even a bumbly bee checking it out.

Mum took some close up pics of the center and you can see a really nice pattern. There is so much beauty in nature.
We had lots and lots of rain so the flower looks a bit shabby now. And how much rain did we have?
Over four inches! Not as bad as near MadTown, some places had over a foot of rain. Mum checked with the naybor, they had this much too. Guess we were lucky on the rain that night.
That is all for this week, hope you enjoyed the pics. See you next week.

  1. That's weird about the petals on the sunflower. You don't think some critter might have nibbled on them?

  2. Maybe the squirrel ate part of the seed before he planted it! It sure is pretty, though, and it's good the bees could still enjoy it.

We saw all that rain on the news the other day. Eeek! You sure got a lot but we're glad not enough to make you all float away.

  6. Sunflower seed heads have amazing patterns! Thats a lot of rain at once. Got 10" in July, but it was spread over 2 weeks. That was the most here in July since 1945.
