Ancestors?

According to a Chinese tale, the domestic cat is the result of crossing a lion with a monkey. Kitty got the best of both: the lion's muscular grace and the monkey's mischievous sense of play.

What do you think?

  6. Hmmm. Maybe. I like the story that God created Man, then the dog to worship him like God, then the cat to ignore Man and put him back in his place.
Heat wave comin! Stay cool, bro.

  9. Monkeys? Nah. They are a lower lifeform. Heck, humans evolved from them. I just think we are unique beings that are above everything else.

  10. Nah, I don't believe the monkey part either. In fact, just the other day when I was bugging my mom to see what she was eating? It was a banana. She let me sniff it. It made my eyes all squishy and I ran away!

  13. Derby,
My person had a kitty, Charlotte, that she says she called 'monkey cat'. You see they lived in a *very* small apartment in New York that had high ceilings, and there was a doorway that had something called a tramsom that had been taken out, but the frame was still there. made a nice kitty perch Charlotte thought. The silly kitty would climb on a bookcase mear by and jump up as high as she could and get her front paws un it and then pull herself the rest of the way up, just like a little monkey. My person said they lived together 18 and a half years then she went to the rainbow bridge; she still get a little sad when she talks about Charlotte. I just give her extra love and snuggles when she is sad about Charlotte. That makes her feel better, she calls me a 'real lover' and that makes me purr all the more!
