ManCat Monday

It is perfectly possible (a fact which I have proved scores of times myself) to work not only with a cat in the room, but with a cat on one's shoulder or in one's lap. In a drafty room, indeed the cat makes a superior kind of paperweight. - Carl Van Vechten
I am making myself useful, holding the newsy paper down. Plus if I am sitting on the paper, then mum can't read it and she has to pay attention to me.

Finally the weather is really feeling good. We have had open windows Friday afternoon, all day Saturday and all day Sunday. It is about time! Mum feels the same way. Matter of fact on Saturday she took the stuff from the bed, washed it and hung it outside to dry. The blankies smell so nice, so I decided to nap and smush my face into them so I could smell the nice smells. Mum likes it too. But then late Sunday afternoon, well I ate too fast and I yakked on the nice clean blankie. So mum had to wash it again, but didn't hang it outside. Sorry mum, you know my tummy gets quesy sometimes. Plus we saw a cute little blue birdie. Mum says it is an Indigo Bunting. We don't see this birdie every day or even every year. He sure is cute!

Mum saw a hawk while she was driving somewhere on Sunday, it was trying to swoop off with a baby bird, but the mum bird attacked the hawk. Mum saw the hawk release the baby birdie. Wow what a sight.

Plus mum is bummed, she took off last week and now she has to go back to work today. I won't have anyone to bug for mid-day treats and she will have to do without my snuggles during the day too.

  7. Holding down the paper is a very important cat job! And looks like you & she are having a good discussion of the daily news too. Cute little bunting!! We've never seen one. But we have cardinals now when we never used to a few years ago.

  14. a cat is a good paperweight if you don't mind the paper getting moved or torn.

  15. I'm sorry your tummy was upset. Yakin' is no fun. However, it seems like the weather made up for it.

  16. We are sorry your tummy was yakky, Derby. You had to put all your smells back on the blanket anyway, so it's OK.

  17. It's always a drag when vacations with moms end. But you had that pretty little bird and the clean blanket...at least for a little while!

  18. We like to lay on Mom's books. We don't let her read very much. We are sorry that your mom can't be home with. Vacations with mom are really fun.

yes, it is the Museum of London you can see in our picture. My Meowmie loves it there and visits often. At the moment more than half the Museum is closed for refurbishment which is a bit annoying, it won;t open again until 2010!!! at least it has the wonderful Museum Bookshop, that is my Meowmie's favourite bit

Fanks for stopping by to see me - ise appreciate it so much xxxx
