Skipping catnaps weakens your immune system.
Amen to that says mum! She hasn't really been sick since she retired! Says she is not around people who come to work sick, plus she gets lots of rest. Both at night and naps during the day if needed. She was sure she was going to get the cold of the other human who worked the book sale with her, but she didn't. Mum was happy about that.
Mum bought a bunch more of her favorite hummer feeders. She likes to have a set out with food, then the other set inside being cleaned for another use. This was Caturday when she got them all unpacked and ready to go. She bought 4 more, even though she only puts out three at a time. A spare she says. Mum also put away the roses and her hat until next year!
It was awefully cool and cloudy most of the weekend, rainy too. So much so that mum decided she needed to make soup. Egg Drop Soup and test out if it still tastes good after freezing. Seems there is a soup contest at the racy track later this year.
Mum saw a new birdie on Sunday. It was cloudy and all, so the colors weren't that bright. But she put it through the Merlin Bird ID and it came up with Magnolia Warbler. Just passing through on his way to Canada. Mum thinks she might have seen the female too, but not good pictures for an ID.
So everyone have a good week. Me and mum will try to stay warm.
Hope ya get lotsa hummingbirds!
ReplyDeleteMum gets sick too much, but she thinks it because she works at the hospital round lots of germs. Hopefully when she retires she will be like your mom and will stay healthy.
ReplyDeleteGood to see you on the case, snoopervising with the hummer feeders, Ducky.

My human got a flu shot because of our therapy work at hospitals last year... and she still got sick.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you were being very helpful. The little Magnolia Warbler looks similar to our Blue Tits.
ReplyDeleteThat's a good looking new bird! And wow! You have a lot of good looking hummingbird feeders! Our Mom enjoys not getting sick from all the sick people she used to work with, too, now that she's a stay-at-home mom.
ReplyDeleteWe've tried to attract hummers for years and finally gave up. That birdie looks beautiful.

We have a hummer feeder somewhere in the house...guess we should put it out, but only if Patty O'Malley isn't close by...
ReplyDeleteGood job snoopervising, Ducky ! Purrs
ReplyDeleteNew birdies! How exciting!
ReplyDeleteEgg drop soup is one of our mum's favorites. She is drooling for a bowl right now!
