Garden Thursday

Hi everyone, Spring is really and truly here. Mum says it even smells like spring. Mum got a nice pic of us this past week. It was an early morning shot for a change.
Everything is getting green, finally, even flowers are blooming like crazy. Mum says part of the smell of spring is the trees shedding their leaf bud covers. Mum swept this up in the AM and later in the PM is looked the same way. Soon the trees will all be green.
A pic of the four-sith-ia. Not many blooms but she didn't kill it when she cut it back last year. Guess that is a positive. This year she needs to work to get it shaped better.

Hi-ya-sinths are in full bloom as well, even one rouge white tulip! Below on the one purple flower you can see a cabbage white butterfly. First butterfly we have seen this year.

The daffs are doing fine and you can't have spring without a few dandy-lions.

Our later spring birds are coming back. Mum was so acited yesterday afternoon. Between 4PM and 5PM she saw both the orioles show up at the feeders. First they were at the oranges and jelly, then they hit up the hummer feeders. Well, not much later a hummer showed up for a snack too.
Plus, do you realize it looked like this two weeks ago? We like what we have now better.

Happy Spring. Enjoy.

  1. Just love your mum's daffydils, Ducky. They're one of my favourite flowers. Glad to see that spring has finally arrived in your neighbourhood.

  8. That is a nice group photo of you girls. Our trees are greening up nicely as well. It is nice to see your birds are arriving back. Most of our birds stay all year round except for swallows which have made a reappearance now. We have had two woodpeckers who have been coming to the feeders for several years. I was sad yesterday to find one dead on the ground near the fence. There were no marks on him so I don't know what happened.
