The community garden is pretty much done for the year. They harvested the last of the stuff, carrots, eggyplant, peppers, kale, swiss chard and a few onions. All the plants are pulled out too.
The raised beds all cleared, the poultry netting taking down. They dug around a few of the metal raised beds, they need to be treated so they don't rust some more.
The pile of what is left of the plants, they get composted. They may have a work day or two for working on the metal and clearing out the flowers.
Plus at the end of the season the dahlia finally decided to bloom. Sure, just in time for frost to set in.
So mum will now have to think and do about working in her own yard! Time for cleanup at home too.
That is it for this week. Love Virginger,, Glimmer, Trooper and Fleur.
I think your mum earned that fresh carrot.

Nothing like fresh veggies...if you're not a cat! We're supposed to freeze tonight here too, which is pretty darn early for us. Thankfully we have Mom to keep us warm!
ReplyDeleteFresh veggies are always popular here. That's a very cool footsie shadow!
ReplyDeleteI recall that as a child, we'd harvest the carrots, beans, etc., and eat them after washing them off with the hose! Talk about fresh from the garden!
ReplyDeletemy grand father grew veggies and we always picked a carrot right out of the soil, gave it a "dusting" on our sleeves and munched away, carrot and any remaining soil !! ☺☺♥♥
ReplyDeleteThat is a funny photo of your mum's feet shadow. It looks like a strange winged monster!
ReplyDeleteHmm, that shadow looks like a jester's crown.
