Caturday

HiYa Ducky here. Happy Caturday! We all made it to Caturday and we had a marvy week since the weather was so nice. That meant I got open windows all week long!

Now to update on our visiting kitty. Mum has decided that it is a small, but adult, very feral cat. Last night mum heard noise outside and turned the outside light one. The cat froze in its tracks for a minute and then scrammed. Mum wasn't even outside! I was just sitting in the door letting the kitty know things are OK in here.

Mum had seen a post on one of the local social media things that they were seeing three cats one of which seems like our kit, but they didn't post any pictures.

Mum had put the food dish down on the ground, but then unless she was sitting in the reading chair she couldn't see if someone visited.

So then she moved it up to the arm of the chair where she could see it even if  she was sitting in the other room. Plus you can see me sitting waiting for a visit. This was after it got dark.

The food dish was full when mum got up this morning, so didn't come back overnight. Mum isn't sure if she will keep putting foods out or not. I am willing to share but she wants to make sure she isn't feeding the mousies. We don't need mousies in the house.

Mum finished the blankie she was working on the other day. So here are a couple of pics. One of the whole blankie and a closeup of the blankie yarn colors. Mum plans to go drop off the hats this week at the food pantry.

Plus it is Pet Obesity Day. Now I am a fit and trim nine pounds, but when I was at the shelter there was a cat called Meatball and he weighed nearly 30 pounds. Whoa! I hope he got a good home that could help him lose some of that excess.

So everyone have a wonderful weekend.

Stay safe, stay healthy, wear a mask. VOTE!

  1. It's great that you want to help the kitty!
There are lots of websites with info on how to coax stray or feral cats to food.
    Good luck!

  3. The light must have startled the kitty. I hope she comes back for food.

  4. Poor little cat. We hope she gets over her skittishness soon. After all, how many cats can say they've dined at Chez Ducky?

Well, actually, we first hope that if she has a family, they find her soon. (And never let her out again!)

  5. Boy - you were being very vigilant with your watching for that feral kit, Ducky.

And your mum's blanket is gorgeous.
