It's Dead

Last month I posted on this plant as I gotted carried away and knocked it over after mum had watered it. Well this is what it looks like now. Not to say anything bad about mum's care of plants, but well, it doesn't look good. Sheesh, mum, you can't keep a simple plant alive, I hope this doesn't happen to me. Brown and skinny.

Mum: Derby dearest. I think the plant looks that way because you keep running over, under, around and through it for the past many months. All of my other plants are fine, just this one that you seem not be able to leave alone. But I agree, it is time to toss the plant in the trash. But don't worry, I will get something else to sit in this spot. So don't think you have succeeded in getting more space to sprawl.

  1. Derby, why don't you ask your Mum to hang a small hammock on its branches for you to snooze in? Just a thought...

Maybe you can help your Mom with the next plant?

  3. I think your mom should replace it with a kitty condo. My humans hang all the plants from the ceiling, something about too many of us running around and carrying on. It's mostly the dogs I believe.

  4. My own Mum is bad with plants... We encourage her to get fake ones. (I'm not a cat; is it still okay to post on this blogthing? My friend Skinny is a cat, but he doesn't have his own blogthing.)
I'd agree with Petey - Tell your Mum to get something you can jump and climb on! That's way more fun than a plant!

  6. We've successfully killed all but one of Mom's large floor plants and Tipper takes care of chewing the countertop ones for us.
    Score: plants - 1, Crew - 100!

Yes, ask for a cat perch. We love ours!

  7. Don't throw it away!! That looks like the endangered "Stick Plant!"

Our mom is really committed to keeping this rare plant around--it seems most of the plants she has end up looking like that.

  9. Mine Mom says she doesnt think you have to worry about getting skinny cuz she heard your Mom feeds you good. If you get hungry you can come here, we got a ton of stinky goodness and crunchies.

  10. I have left my mum's plants alone since the big yucca plant fell over on me and scared me. You did a good job killing off that plant!

  11. There is a person with a dead tree in their yard just around the corner. (It looks alot like your houseplant there.) But the creative person living there has collected bird houses of all colors and sizes and hung them all over the tree! I think it's just wonderful - I'll have to run down and take a photo sometime. Maybe you and Mum could hang cat toys all over the branches of your plant? :-)

  13. I've monitored the watering of plants for years so Mom has pretty much stopped killing them. She tried a hanging plant, but the hanger had wonderful dangling strings and I sort of wrecked them. That plant died from not enuf water. She has spikey bafroom plants that almost never need water and they survive.
